The Need for Speed: Making Your Parts Faster
GibbsCAM's built-in features let you machine faster and easier than ever before. Reduce cycle and programming times, maximize material removal rates and produce parts faster than the competition.

The Need for Speed

Complex surfaces. Compound angles. Programming complex part geometry can be a real challenge. Your CAM system’s interface shouldn’t put speed bumps in your way.

GibbsCAM provides new functionality across the GibbsCAM product spectrum adding many capabilities to make programming and machining much faster and easier. All this is in addition to the recent integration of VoluMill™ and making GibbsCAM compatible with the Windows 7 operating system. With GibbsCAM you can run full throttle!

 Volumill Volumill™ for Geometry/Solids

VoluMill within GibbsCAM offers expanded milling solutions that are designed to reduce cycle or processing times, simplify the programming process or make the most of your machine capabilities. The VoluMill Option offers a dynamically-controlled material removal rate strategy that generates the optimum toolpath program for every geometry and solid model, high-speed repositioning and ramps along boundaries to boost material removal rates in tight areas, intelligent high-speed slicer converts polygons into smooth chains of arcs and lines for better finishes and parallel processing to leverage processor multi-core capabilities for faster computation.

Plunge-Rough Plunge-Rough

We redesigned Plunge Rough feature in the latest version of GibbsCAM 2010 to accommodate the latest and most advanced plunge milling tools. These tools maximize your material removal rate and significantly cut down on rough milling processes. The new, fully-integrated Plunge Rough feature with the specialized motion required for efficient plunge milling has some early users of the new GibbsCAM Plunge Rough reporting processes over 80 percent faster than traditional processes.

5-axis 5-Axis

The 5-Axis Option in GibbsCAM supports simultaneous 4- and 5-axis machining with various tool types for optimum flexibility, reduced programming times and faster overall production. It includes various machining styles and strategies for roughing and finishing, collision detection and gouge checking for various tool shapes and toolpath verification with integrated Cut Part Rendering. Additionally, GibbsCAM Machine Simulation helps you identify any program errors before they cause costly mistakes on the shop floor and delay production times.

Advanced 3D Advanced 3D with High-Speed Machining

The GibbsCAM SolidSurfacer option allows you to quickly generate toolpaths that are tailored for hard-metal cutting and High-Speed Machining (HSM), resulting in smooth surface finishes and faster production times. The Option supports 3D Material-only roughing and other High-Speed Machining (HSM) machining capabilities with flexible retract styles and options, along with advanced HSM finish capabilities, for overall faster machining.
